United Way Charlotte County FL HIRES COLLECTIVE IMPACT DIRECTOR WITH SUPPORT OF GRANT FROM GULF COAST COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Port Charlotte, FL - The United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC) is happy to announce that CarolAnn Popovich has joined their team as Collective Impact Director. A Gulf Coast Community Foundation grant through the Miriam P. Raines Fund provided the funding, ensuring forward movement, maximum effectiveness and sustainability of our work with our collaborative funded partners. Originally launched in 2016 with the generous contribution of a longtime UWCC donor, Mr. Alvin Gould, the Collective Impact Director oversees five UWCC funded collaboration programs that serve those in Charlotte County who are in need of intensive intervention and services.
Popovich works with UWCC partner agencies to identify barriers to success and increase cross-sector support. Raised in Charlotte County, Popovich has over 15 years of diverse work experience in Southwest Florida in the education and non-profit arenas, as well as grant writing and program management. As a Rotarian, she volunteers and serves her community with numerous local and district level charitable events or initiatives and believes firmly that often the best solutions arise from the collaborations and interactions of many.
According to Executive Director, Angie Matthiessen, this grant ensures our funded programs have maximum support for maximum impact. Investing in the collaborative work at UWCC addresses our mission of eliminating poverty and the following key issues identified by Together Charlotte – Economic and Workforce Outlook, Poverty and ALICE (folks who are asset limited, income constrained and employed), Senior Services and Isolation, Access to Healthcare, and Drug Abuse/Addiction. The collective impact programs address the highest community needs that drain the most human services.
