What is a Reading Buddy?  

A Reading Buddy is a dependable adult who reads with students one-on-one at our Charlotte County after-school clubs. Reading Buddies are matched with children to help grow their love of reading, which translates to better phonics and decoding skills and eventually reading for learning and comprehension.  

If your child is struggling with reading proficiency and you would like your child to be connected to a Reading Buddy by contacting Alexandra Schoenmakers at hope@unitedwayccfl.org

Join the Circle of Parents

Circle of Parents is a group with children from birth to age 5. This group meets frequently to share information about resources, early childhood learning, parenting techniques, fellowship, and lots of recipes!  If interested in joining or receiving more information please contact us at rd@unitedwayccfl.org
