211: Resource Helpline
United Way Charlotte County has partnered with United Way of Lee County to ensure every call is answered by a trained specialist who understands local resources. Simply dial 2-1-1 or call (239) 433-3900 to get started. Calls are confidential, available in multiple languages, and designed for non-emergency assistance only.
211 is a free, confidential helpline available 24/7 that connects people to essential services in our community. Whether you need housing assistance, food support, child care, financial help, or crisis counseling, 211 is here to guide you.
United at Work: Get Help
United at Work is a program designed to mobilize resources and help strengthen Charlotte County’s workforce by providing referrals to community services and assistance with personal financial emergencies to employees of participating businesses.
VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program offers free tax preparation and e-filing services to individuals and families with an annual household income at or below $66,000. VITA tax preparers are certified by the IRS to ensure that clients receive all eligible Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) and Child Tax Credits. In addition, clients save money by not having to pay fees associated with tax preparation.
