Savor the moment, slow down, connect and experience something new.

For longtime readers of this column, Beaujolais needs little introduction. What began as a fundraiser has grown into a cherished tradition and remains Charlotte County’s premier tasting experience—and one I look forward to each year. This year, Beaujolais is thoughtfully re-imagined, hosted at the home of a gracious friend, inviting guests to slow down, savor the moment, and enjoy an evening that feels both welcoming and refreshingly new.

At its heart, Beaujolais has always been about quality, connection, and purpose. Guests return year after year for thoughtfully curated tastings, exceptional food, and the opportunity to support a mission that directly impacts our community.

One of the most exciting additions this year is the introduction of a Bourbon Tasting, complementing the beloved wine experience Beaujolais is known for. This new element adds depth and variety to the evening, appealing to long-time attendees and first-time guests alike. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, a bourbon aficionado, or simply curious, the evening is designed for exploration and conversation, where each pour and pairing encourages discovery throughout the night.

Adding to the allure is Beaujolais’ new location. This year’s event will unfold outdoors on the exquisite private estate of Julie and Ian Lang. Hosted within their beautifully appointed grounds, the evening will take place in an elegant open-air setting designed to complement the surrounding natural beauty. This refined outdoor atmosphere creates an intimate yet elevated experience, perfectly aligned with this year’s vision of a richly sensory, immersive evening.

Food remains a defining element of Beaujolais, highlighted by a handcrafted menu from Chef Jason Osborne and the culinary students of Charlotte Technical College. This year’s tapas are intentionally designed to pair seamlessly with both the wine tastings and the newly introduced bourbon selections, adding an unexpected layer of flavor and creativity.

The presence of the culinary students adds a meaningful dimension to the event. From preparation to presentation, they approach each station with focus, confidence, and pride in their work. Their passion and professionalism are evident, offering guests not only exceptional food, but a glimpse into the future of the culinary arts within our community.

Beyond the event itself, this partnership provides students with valuable hands-on experience through real-world catering opportunities while directly supporting their educational journey. Proceeds from Beaujolais help fund scholarships for students to attend the State Culinary Arts Conference and compete at the SkillsUSA Conference. Last year, one student earned a Gold medal at the state level, while another advanced to the National Leadership & Skills Conference — powerful examples of how this program is opening doors and changing lives.

The evening will also include live music, a silent auction, and an exciting opportunity to win one of five incredible travel packages. Last year’s trip winners were treated like royalty and enjoyed unforgettable experiences — just one more reason to join us for an evening that promises to delight, inspire, and leave a lasting impression.

Beaujolais has always been about more than wine. This year, it’s about savoring — the flavors, the setting, the people, and the promise of something new.
