What Our Donors are Saying . . .

Money stays in local community. Priorities set by local community leaders who know the needs. Agencies receiving donations are required to operate according to United Way guidelines thus assuring the money will be spent where it is needed most.

There are many needs in Charlotte County. I feel confident the process used by UW to allocate funds provides the best use of funds available.

I donate directly to national charities but realize there are many local needs to be met and United Way includes most of these. Also I have confidence that my money is going to valid causes and not some fly-by-night organization.

Funds donated to United Way are kept and utilized in the local area, with very low administrative costs. The UW organization also does an excellent job of screening and qualifying organizations that receive donated funds. The local Charlotte County UW utilizes award recommendation panels/workgroups made up of community residents.

United Way does a great job of evaluating needy organizations so that donors such as we can be assured that the funds we provide are being used as efficiently as possible. We have been very fortunate to have had great jobs and understand not everyone has been so lucky. We believe in Community and United Way helps us participate.

Because it takes more than government to care for the various needs of society. We have been blessed and feel a responsibility to help those less fortunate, support additional outlets for youth activities, education and sources of information. We can never know what it is like to walk in their shoes, but we can help then change shoes. After all, we are our brother and sisters keeper if we want to remain true to our beliefs. There is also the satisfaction you get from helping others.

Money that is contributed helps those organizations right here in Charlotte County. As a 30+ year resident, I've seen the county grow and in its growth, the need for comprehensive services.

I am confident in the United Way of Charlotte County as it is a community based funding and support organization that directs funds to appropriate human service organizations. I can donate funds to United Way with the confidence, knowing funds will be distributed to those organizations that benefit Charlotte County community and to organizations that spend those funds appropriately. The United Way of Charlotte County is a well run, professional organization that controls administrative expenses, has excellent leadership, staff and a active board of directors.

Payroll deduction makes it an easy to give: Like the concept of many different non profits benefiting from donation. Feel the review process monitors that dollars are well spent and that monies stay local.

I donate because I know the money is going where it is needed. I think that the way money is distributed is extremely effective. The United Way's community impact panel keeps things honest and puts the owneress on the various agencies to state their case in a fair and subject process.

It is important all people who have been blessed with an abundance of riches give back a small part to those less fortunate. United Way provides an efficient way to give to one community without know where the greatest need is or who is doing the best job of providing for those in need.

United Way offers me a "one stop" opportunity to make a difference for non-profit organizations in the community. I know that the donations are properly managed and that the process by which funds are allocated is fair and thorough. The staff, Board of Directors and volunteers are committed to serving the needs of the community and to ensuring that the United Way of Charlotte County is one the best.

I have seen the good that is done with the funds that go to United Way Charlotte County first hand. While I am not wealthy by any means I am better off than a lot of the citizens of Charlotte County and United Way provides me with a way to donate to a Central place who responsibly sees that my money is used to the best advantage for those who need in my community.

I have lived in Charlotte County for the past 15 years. I choose to donate in Charlotte County because that's where I live and work. Many years ago while being a single parent, I was able to get day care assistance through the YMCA in Connecticut, thanks to the United Way. I am happy that I am fortunate that I am able to donate and know that my money is going towards a great cause.

United Way helps many needed organizations and it is good to see my money going to help people in my community.
I have served on the Allocations committee the past few years and seeing how these organizations have impacted so many lives in the community, just reinforces my faith in United Way.
