Christmas Giving 2021
United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC) has pledged to champion child abuse, neglect and well-being, which was identified as the top priority from the 2020 Charlotte County Community Health and Needs Assessment. We will not cease to advocate for the youngest citizens in our county, fighting for their families, their education and their future successes. The holiday season we are advocating for a joyful Christmas time filled with love, laughter, and a few gifts.
YOU can help local children in the child welfare system this holiday season by supporting United Way of Charlotte County funded agency: Guardian ad Litem Foundation.
Lead Elf, Tracy Trotter, who works on behalf of the Guardian ad Litem Foundation, explained that the organization serves to provide a voice for children in the child welfare system. And these children have voiced some Christmas wishes.
How can you help?
Tree tags for specific children's Christmas present requests are available at Charlotte State Bank locations (Murdock, North Port, Parkside, and Peachland) as well as The Yoga Sanctuary in Punta Gorda.
Unwrapped new toys (including tricycles, bicycles, and adult bikes for the bigger kids, and interactive learning toys) or gift cards (Visa, Walmart, Target, and Starbucks) are also accepted. Donation can be dropped off on Wednesdays at the Punta Gorda office (Lead Elf Tracy asks that you call and let her know you are coming! Call Tracy at 941-613-3233 - then select #3.)
UWCC is proud to partner with the Guardian ad Litem Foundation year-round but it is especially exciting during the holidays.
With YOUR help, we can add a little hope for the holidays for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
